Worst review I’ve ever received

I was halfway through my BLT sandwich the other day when, suddenly…

PING!

A comment.

Never one to park praise from my readers, I unlocked my phone and found this little number waiting for me:

Can’t listen to a story that operates on stupidity. Going to listen to something worth listening to.

Definitely not what I was expecting.

Like…

Like this might just be the moment that D.J.J. Watson throws in the towel on this fiction gig and does something halfway intelligent with my life. I heard there’s a growing marketplace where AI robots are hiring humans to clean their homes and Teslas.

On second thoughts….

NA!

Nothing quite beats making up stories, disappearing into faraway worlds, and roasting wannabe Trophy Trolls like the fellow above, to which I actually have a five-word reply:

WORST REVIEW I’VE EVER RECEIVED

Seriously, my boy, are you not capable of sending something remotely unambiguous?

You say the Exiled operates on “stupidity,” yet lack the capacity to say exactly what makes it stupid. I’m totally fine with you not liking it. Seriously, I am. But can you not at least give this Overlord a little more meat to work with?

Something that I can, you know, actually roast?

Instead, I now have to resort to grilling you.

(Sigh. Guess they can’t all be saved.)

In any case, it comes as no surprise you think my story is stupid — it’s longer, more comprehensive, and probably a whole lot more entertaining than anything your weary fingers are capable of producing.

Prove me wrong.

Seriously.

Write a review that actually has some sting to it, or dare I say, is useful for prospective readers. And while you spend the next thirty minutes eclipsing the 17 meagre words you wrote, I might just have to open a therapy fund.

Not because my skin is thinner than this chap’s IQ threshold.

Nay.

Rather, it’s that I’m soon going to need a place beyond the Legion to rant about these non-playable characters who inhabit our world.

Should you wish to help fund these therapy sessions, allow me to point you towards my latest ware:

Lore & Order: Chronicles of Estos

Unlike the review above, I did my best to iron out any lingering ambiguity that may have been left in The Divided Region, all while keeping spoilers down.

Plenty of cool insights to be found if I say so myself.
