These daily emails will be no more

… At least for this week.

Yes, I am well aware this is the biggest break of tradition ever seen in the Legion. No doubt, every Legionnaire across the globe can feel the tremors of this sizeable decision, and trust me…

It’s a decision I haven’t taken lightly.

So what gives?

Am I going on a week-long holiday to Bali?

(I wish.)

No, the reasons are far less exciting.

With Heir #2 only a couple of months away now, we need to get the house prepared for his arrival. And by “we,” I really mean…

ME.

Lady Laura has reached that part of the pregnancy where climbing even a few steps is leaving her breathless, and while Master Liam is an extremely capable tot, he’s still some yards off from being helpful, as opposed to destructive.

So this burden is firmly my own to carry.

And given I need to relocate my desktop PC, standing desk, and the hundred wires I had carefully sleeved together into another room, writing these emails and loading them is too improbable to commit to my daily cadence.

As I have yet to replace my MacBook after Liam’s successful assassination, my options are, indeed, bleak.

But fret not…

This doesn’t mean there will be no emails (what do you take me for?!).

Just fewer than normal.

I quite agree that this warrants a day of mourning, but trust me when I say this…

I will be back better, faster, and even more handsome than before.

And should my ears detect even the faintest of cheers, I would encourage those to be so bold as to reply to this email. I dare you. I might even have a very special gift waiting for you. 😊

For all my other disciples who are no doubt distressed by my sudden and temporary leave, I do have a solution that will make it a little more bearable…

My books.

(Come on, you didn’t think I would bow out gracefully, did you?)

In said books, you will find echoes of my “voice” in the narrative, dialogue, and characters. Depending on how far you go back (like the Curse of Abbey Ruins duology), that voice is raw and unrefined.

For later works (like The Great Betrayal), you’ll notice a better grasp of it, and dare I say, some experimentation (as also seen in the 141 microstories found in Tiny Epics: Vol. 1).

I’ll let you choose which path you want to travel, but should you miss our daily interaction too much, you can always exercise your right to send me an email.

I read and reply to them all.

(Hell, I might even appreciate the distraction from getting these pretty little hands of mine dirty.)

Until then… hold down the fort, Legionnaire.

I have faith in you.
