If you've ever read a Divided Region book and thought:
"Bloody hell, I'd love to know more about that…"
Good.
That means my dark arts are working.
You see, one of the core tenets of my writing is to say what needs to be said, and no more. Meaning, limited POVs, no lore dumps, and absolutely no three-page tangents about the geopolitical history of a kingdom that shows up for one chapter.
But this approach requires a pound of flesh.
The readers who want to delve deep — the ones who would happily disappear down a world-building rabbit hole at 11pm on a Tuesday — are left a little…
HUNGRY.
And as someone who only wants to see my disciples plump and happy, this didn't sit right with me.
So that's when I decided enough was enough.
I plonked my noble arse on my ergonomic chair that I'm convinced is trying to say I am carrying extra timber, and wrote:
Lore & Order: Chronicles of Estos
It's for those who want to peel back the extra layers and learn more about the world, the histories, and its inhabitants that the storyline either touches on briefly or completely glosses over in order to preserve its pace.
The funny thing is, as I wrap up the series, I'm still learning things myself from the seat of my chair — yes, the fat-shaming one — which remains one of the genuine highlights of this gig.
… Until I have to update the book, that is.
But update it, I shall.
Patrons of Lore & Order, both new and old, will get every said update entirely for free as and when they are made.
Once I feel there's nothing left to add, that's when I'll publish the audiobook and paperback editions to finally complete the shelf space TDR currently occupies in countless homes across the world.
