The awesome thing about running a one-man band is you get to do what the hell you want.
No boss.
No marketing exec you need to serenade.
Just you, your imagination, and your skills.
Of course, this can be a double-edged sword.
In incompetent hands, it can heap all kinds of misery on your business. However, your Overlord & Saviour is anything but incompetent. I am godly, adept, and above all, dangerously handsome.
Or so ChatGPT tells me.
Now, if it isn’t painfully obvious to you yet (in which case, you might need to check in with your sense of humour)…
I DON’T TAKE MYSELF TOO SERIOUSLY.
And this shows up as fingerprints in everything I do, from these emails to my social media posts, and right up to ads that I pay a pretty penny to put in front of unwitting Drifters.
One such ad I recently published couldn’t demonstrate this better:
I cannot begin to tell you how much my stomach hurt putting this one together.
Will it generate a flurry of sales?
I couldn’t tell you.
But what I DO know is it’ll make people chuckle and leave a positive impression on them, which might open them up to buying down the line.
I try to do the same in my books.
I want to make you laugh.
I want to make you cry.
I want to give you something to chew on.
Good stories aren’t afraid to explore emotions, and mine certainly don’t either — even the ultra-short ones found in Tiny Epics: Vol. 1.
