For the last few weeks, I’ve installed something of a devious habit into my morning routine.
Every AM, as I sit down with a steaming cup of black coffee, I typically log into my email service provider to see the latest “catch” of subscribers lured into the Legion. It’s also a chance to see who has used that handy Self Exile option in the Post Email Menu at the bottom of every broadcast I send.
This routine allows me to ease into my day while I do my best to forget the sleepless night I had.
(Everything they say about babies and never sleeping again is true.)
However, until the end of March, I’ve been cranking this routine up a notch to see which Legionnaires are opening my emails and which ones are just letting them pile up in their inboxes unread.
Creepy, I know.
But not nearly as creepy as what I do with this information.
The ones who tune into most of my emails (but not all), I grant a stay of execution.
Life happens, work happens, kids happen — I get it. Besides, I’m not narcissistic enough (yet) to believe all of my emails are blockbusters.
But the “Legionnaires” who read only a handful of broadcasts per month or less?
THEY ARE BEING QUIETLY ‘DOCKED’ FROM THE LEGION😈

Oh yes, I can.
Especially when I’m the one paying for them to be in the Legion (yes, your daily host isn’t just sweating last night’s whiskey into writing these musings… it’s also costing me good coin to ship them out to you — coin I’d rather spend on my most active readers.)
So that’s my “sadistic” morning routine.
Hot coffees and quiet executions, can’t beat it.
