Just a quick heads up:
Tomorrow I’ll be contacting “Cold Subscribers” that my email service provider has flagged up on my system. These are Legionnaires who have supposedly not opened or clicked any of my emails in the last several weeks.
I usually don’t trust these metrics as far as I can throw them for a myriad of technical reasons, but they do have their use cases.
For the uninitiated:
Every quarter, I offer these “Cold Subscribers” a stay of execution in the form of an email that requires them to either:
- Click a link
- Reply to my email
This is a very simple way for them to let me know they are alive and well, and that the metrics have been falsifying their status (it happens). Those who do not click the link or reply to my email within the allotted timeframe I give them?
They are swiftly ejected from the Legion and forced to live out a Drifter’s life.
For everybody else?
