I’ve been quietly sipping on something for 12 months

It's no secret that I'm a bit of a caffeine junkie.

The day splashing cold water on my face stopped giving the desired "jolt" I needed was the day I unboxed a coffee machine.

And that worked great for a few years.

…Until I hit my late 20s and realised my mortal coil was just that:

Mortal.

Nowadays, it takes three cups of Joe just to jumpstart my brain, let alone keep it awake. And as I don't want to be a walking, talking Arabica bean, nor suffer the ill effects of drinking too much coffee (need I detail them?), I, like so many before me, moved on to the "harder" stuff:

ENERGY DRINKS.

And what a "Monster" ride they are (pun very much intended).

Yes, they pick me up when my morning coffee wanes.

Yes, they taste reasonably nice.

But do you know what these suckers leave me with?

The jitters.

Oh my, the crashes I'd get from these things would make Boeing look like saints.

However, all that changed nearly a year ago when I accidentally came across a podcast with Chris Williamson, where he casually mentioned the drink company he and his friend co-founded, Neutonic.

He positioned their drinks as being the world's first "productivity drink" that not only had real nootropic ingredients to enhance focus — that's a whole subject and email unto itself — but more importantly…

They didn't leave you with the shakes.

I'm under no illusion that many of the glowing reviews I read online were written by their fanbois and fangals, but it was enough to sway your daily host into shelling out some coin to see what the fuss was all about.

And let me tell you, Legionnaire…

The reviews weren’t exaggerating.

Within 15-20 minutes of drinking one of these things (which are tasty by the way), I’m locked into my task until completion.

Perhaps it is placebo, or maybe the nootropics really do work.

In any case, having bought dozens of crates and consumed hundreds of cans, I can say — quite confidently — that they work. So much so that they have become my go-to most mornings, especially after a fitful night's sleep (I'm looking at you, Liam and Nathan).

Anyway, this email is getting longer than Harry Styles' dress, so let's bring this one home:

If, like me, you spend exorbitant amounts of time in front of a screen, wrestling with words, emails, or spreadsheets…

…And you don't want to chug more coffee or energy drinks that leave you shaking like an Autumn leaf…

Then Neutonic might be worth checking out.

Tropical Ice, Strawberry Lemonade, and Blue Raspberry are my favourites personally, but you can get a variety pack if you're undecided.
