Even great novels aren’t immune to this

A good book always sticks in the mind.

For a while, at least.

But even the most epic of stories aren’t immune to the corrosion of time. Let enough years slip by, and you’ll be left scratching your head as you recall names and standout scenes while the rest dissolves into fog.

Sure, books are easy enough to pick up again, but unlike flicking on a movie, reliving the entire story takes time you might not have.

A while back, I shared a little trick to help engrave those powerful chapters into your skull.

For those fresh off the turnip truck, here’s a little recap:

After a chapter or a killer scene, pause. Close your eyes. Run it back like a movie in your head. Recall the dialogue, the tension, the clashing swords or the silent dread.

In other words…

PUT YOURSELF IN THE CHARACTER’S BOOTS.

It’s not sexy and most certainly not revolutionary – but it works. It helps cement those moments.

BUT… it still requires effort.

And let's be honest, sometimes you don't want to mentally re-direct an entire epic saga. Sometimes you just crave that immediate ‘hit’ of story, that single, sharp jolt to the imagination that paints all the imagery it needs.

That's where something else comes to mind.

Something designed for immediate impact, not rumination.

That thing?

MICROFICTION.

These aren't sprawling epics you need complex techniques to remember. Micro-stories are the distilled moment. The punchline. The haunting whisper. The single image that burns itself into your brain.

No wading through backstory or juggling plot threads. You get the full dose – the magic, the horror, the deep-space chill – in a minute or less. Designed to be devoured quickly, but mulled over for hours.

And if you fancy a whole collection packed with just those kinds of quick, consumable one-hit stories spanning fantasy, sci-fi, and a touch of horror…

Well, I happen to have 141 of them bundled together.

It’s called:

TINY EPICS: VOL. 1.

Forget the mental gymnastics (for now). Instead, indulge in something leaner, quicker, right here:
