I am under no illusion that 90% of the publishing industry would have blurted out a release date for their new book several months back.
And, for several years, I did the same.
However, it's like the world listens to those proclamations with a keen ear and then rubs its hands in delight, all too eager to test your resolve.
Or, at least, it has done so for me.
That's not to say I missed every release date I've ever uttered. Quite the opposite — I fulfilled most of them.
However, behind a number of them were tales of technical hiccups, personal life stuff, and creative curveballs that stumped my progress.
That all led to days of considerable stress…
Barrels of midnight oil burned…
And more coffee than my nervous system knew what to do with.
On the few, rare occasions when those things weren't enough, I've had to delay, which always hurt more than the former.
Alas, not even an Overlord like me can halt time, and so, I vowed never to blare out a release date unless I am 1,000% certain I'll hit it without any of the burnout.
And today, lords and ladies…
WE HAVE A DATE.
In precisely five days from now, Among Wolves will be published in ALL formats for you to purchase, so I hereby ask that you mark your calendars for next Wednesday at 6 p.m. British Summer Time.
The wait is almost over.
