It’s been a hot minute — as the yutes of the world say — since I’ve given an update on all things writing.
If it’s not audiobook creation, it has been sourcing a print-on-demand service for my paperbacks.
If it hasn’t been paperbacks, it has been commissioning new covers.
If it’s not been new covers, it has been these daily emails.
But what of my writing?
Namely…
WHAT OF BOOK #6 OF THE DIVIDED REGION?
Seasoned Legionnaires will know that a month or so ago, I teased that the “plotting” of the novel had already begun, and it did. In earnest, I might add. Then, like all of my outlines, it changed.
New ideas sprang to me in the shower.
Twists came in the dead of night.
And my Notes app now resembles a teenager’s bedroom; scattered, disorganised, and quite frankly, a worthy target for arson.
So, I’ve decided enough is enough.
For the next instalment of The Divided Region, I’m doing something I’ve been curious about for years yet lacked the guts to do…
Write without an outline.
Sounds like a recipe for misadventure, I know.
But as all misadventures are adventures in and of themselves, it should make not just for exciting writing, but exciting reading, too.
And get this:
Since making the decision earlier this week to “Write into the Dark” as a prolific author termed it many moons ago (hat tip to you, Dean Wesley Smith), I’ve already written a portion of Chapter 1 and already have ideas gushing for Chapter 2 involving a POV we haven’t seen since One True King.
I have a funky feeling I’m going to fly through this novel, even with a newborn only mere weeks away now.
Exciting times ahead, indeed.
You know what else is exciting?
My digitally-signed e-books.
Not only are they great for fans who love to collect, but they also add that extra personal touch to all those who seek it. In addition to my wonderfully woven, one-of-a-kind signature, each e-book comes time-stamped with its publication date and can be found as soon as you open the very first page.
There’s just one catch:
You can only get them at my Storehouse — not retailers.
And as we've been talking about The Divided Region, you can grab the digitally-signed e-books right… here:
