A sneaky fact Amazon doesn’t want you knowing

The other day, while going down the rabbit hole that is also known as Google, I stumbled upon an astonishing fact that left me… stunned.

Seasoned Legionnaires know full well that’s no easy feat.

It came in the form of a striking headline claiming that physical books are responsible for felling — get this — 340 million trees per year. Yes… M for million. To put that into perspective, that’s roughly the size of Ireland’s County Cork (the largest county in Ireland)… about the same size as Puerto Rico or Brunei… larger than Delaware (U.S.)… or, for soccer fans…

That’s equivalent to 1.6 million football fields.

Mind-blowing stuff when you think about it.

Now listen, I’m far from ever being on Greta Thunberg’s Christmas card list, but even I winced a little as I read that article.

And (admittedly) I’d be lying if it didn’t make me feel a smidge better about only selling e-books and audiobooks at my Storehouse (for now). Of course, I’m looking to change that sometime this year, but until then, I guess I’m in Greenpeace’s good graces?

You can be, too, if you choose to buy either of these formats.

But I’d be remiss not to warn you that – unlike at my Storehouse where you own 100% of the e-books and audiobooks that you buy – the same can not be said at Amazon and other book retailers.

You’re merely leasing them.

(Quite the sneaky, dirty fact, I know.)

At my bazaar, however…

YOU OWN THEM. 😉

That means you never have to worry about turning on your e-reading device or BookFunnel app to find a new cover glossing over your ebook, or a bastardised edition of an old story that may not be “appropriate” by today’s standards, or God forbid, the blatant removal of them (unless you refund, of course).

Such are the perks when you purchase directly at my bazaar.

But the advantages don’t stop there.

You also get bundle deals that are not available elsewhere…

Audiobooks and digital artwork that cannot be bought on Amazon…

And, among many other things, stories that aren’t published on other retailers (like Tiny Epics: Vol. 1).
