Ever get those days or weeks where even just getting up and making a coffee feels like you’re dragging a block of stone by your ankles?
Where all you want to do is draw the curtains and collapse on the couch?

In fact, this week has been one of those said weeks.
The dip in mood hasn’t been helped by the UK weather, which has given us enough grey clouds and rain to quench the thirst of Nevada for a decade.
Hope is not lost, however.
During these times of plenty, I often retreat deeper into the world of fiction, oftentimes beyond the bounds of fantasy and sci-fi.
So, if you hoped I’d share with you a hidden epic or sci-fi gem, then you will be sorely disappointed. Perhaps now is a good time to click off this email and wave bye-bye until tomorrow.

Then you might very well like the movie I’m about to recommend to you, Legionnaire.
I discovered it by accident about a year ago and it really did pull me out of my funk just in time for the weekend. I can’t promise it will do the same for you, but for the sake of two hours of watch time, you can do far worse than giving it a go.
What’s more:
The movie is based on a true story, which always sucks me in more.
It raises the stakes tenfold.
And in case you’re wondering, there is no gore, bloody battles, or prowling beasts beyond the metaphorical, but that doesn’t mean it lacks tension.
It has plenty of that.
It also has moments that drew out a chuckle or two from me, which is notorious to do when I’m in one of these cheerful moods.
Anyway, enough chit-chat. I’ve got a glum spirit to indulge.
