As I’m back in the writing corner editing Book #5 today, I figured let’s explore 5 things you can bank on encountering in this sequel.
Without further ado, let's kick things off with number 1:
1 – It’s more than twice as long as One True King.
Yes, as a self-confessed addict of short fiction, this new sequel is packed with more pages than its predecessors.
Fear not, though—the pace is fast, sometimes blisteringly so, which leads me to…
2 – Lots of action.
Seriously, out of all the books I've written to date, this one stands head and trolls above the rest in terms of action and plot. If you're not a fan of slow chapters to "catch your breath" (yes, that's a thing), then you will find sanctuary in Book 5.
3 – Ideas galore.
Fun fact: I had to rewrite the outline about four times. I had so many ideas for this one—I was practically drowning in them. It wasn’t uncommon for me to put away the complete outline for the day, only to wake up with several new chapter ideas.
Next…
4 – Death.
I'm no stranger to killing off characters, so you can expect that trend to continue in this instalment, muhahaha.
5 – More encounters with the supernatural and legendary.
One of the big draws of fantasy isn't just the vast worlds, lore, and rival kingdoms, but the beasts and creatures that roam them. I don't know about you, but when I think of The Lord of the Rings, my mind conjures images of the Nazgûls, Balrog, trolls, orcs, and every other beast (living or dead) that featured.
Legendary foes rock my world.
And you can expect to encounter quite a few in this one.
6 – Bonus: The stage is set for the Second Great Battle.
I'm not going to give any more away than that. You'll have to bribe me with Churchill cigars, copious bottles of whisky, and a trip to Disneyland to pry any more information than what I have given you.
So there you have it…
5 things you can expect in Book 5 of The Divided Region.
Watch this space.
As we're not long from the official release of the sequel, now is a good time to refresh yourself on the story.
It shouldn't take more than a couple of weekends to get up to date.
