Well, well, well. If you have a look at that… It's Friday — again.
Is it me, or are weeks feeling more like days?
In any case, that means it's Fun Fact Friday, and as it is Master Nathan's first birthday tomorrow, I thought it would be fitting to share five facts about my progeny in tribute to this very important milestone.
Let us begin with the one that rules them all…
Did you know…
He's dashingly handsome? Like his older brother, Master Liam, there was never a need to prove he was my offspring!
(What can I say… chip off the old block.)
Did you know…
He took his first steps only this week? That's right – he bested his older brother by a couple of weeks and is now only a few short strides away from taking his old man to the pub.
(We can dream.)
Did you know…
When we call him Eager Beaver, we really mean it. This little guy has two teeth lining his upper and lower jaw, and oh my, have they caused destruction around the house.
(We're thinking of setting him loose on the brambles and trees overlooking our garden. Watch this space.)
Did you know…
The word he has been saying for months now is “oova,” which is baby for hoover.
(Quite fitting considering he eats everything, too!)
Did you know…
He almost gave us the best story ever. Liam was born on the 10th of May, sharing my mother's birthday. Nathan was only two days out from sharing my mother-in-law's birthday on the 24th of September. That would have made one hell of a tale.
(Though it's hard to feel glum gobbling down two birthday cakes.)
And there you have it, my lords and ladies.
Five fun facts about my second-born you likely didn't know. And if you did, well… write on in so I can get a restraining order on you.
While (hopefully) nobody does that, here's a quick update on Book 7:
There's a reason every author says the hardest book of a series to write is the last one. Opening plot lines is easy — tying them off in a satisfying manner, however?
That's a mighty thorn in the arse.
And it is living up to its billing.
All that said, I promised it would be published well before the year is out, and we are certainly on track to do just that.
I know the wait is agonising, and I know some of you have resorted to raiding your pantries for something to ease the pain, but I can assure you that I'm working through it as quickly as my fingers allow without rushing the final product.
After all, it's the last book of the series; the final song that determines how this sucker will be remembered.
So let's make it one NOT to forget.

P.S. Another reason I'm working my tail off is that Milo the Muse handed me my main character for the spin-off assassin series I've been bumping my gums about this year.
Of course, it came at the most inconvenient time as ever. I was in the shower, just about to scrub — yeah, too much information.
