I had a dream the other night — scratch that, a NIGHTMARE — where I fell into a crocodile pit similar to the one we visited in Morocco circa 2023:
After dodging a number of basking Niles, I clambered onto a rail that's supposed to catch anyone unfortunate enough to fall into the pit (obviously not yours truly) when something snapped around my ankle.
I glanced down with a grimace, and staring back up at me were two olive, reptilian eyes.
A big mother-you-know-what, by all accounts.
With one effortless tug of its thick neck, it yanked me from the rail and dragged me into the murky pool where its brethren — of all sizes — torpedoed towards me.
My last memory of this hellscape was them all clamping down on a part of me before the inevitable death-rolling began.
Thank God for that.
Nile crocodiles have always held a special place on my Please Do Not Let Me Die This Way list, and for good reason.
They are merciless predators that don't give two licks about you or your political leanings — only that you carry pounds of flesh.
In fact, they terrify me so much that I not only go out of my way to get up close and personal to see what death by these beasts would actually look like…
… But I've morphed them into a crocodilian so big and so large in The Divided Region that they make their earthly cousins look like hatchlings.
And unlike their smaller cousins, this beast doesn't need friends to rip you apart.
Oh no.
They can consume most men WHOLE.
