The other day, I saw one of my posts had been shared not by a raving fan or troll, but by fellow scribe and self-published author, Andrew Ducharme.
I dare say, it might've left my cheeks a little rosy.
I came across this author and his book series Exiled and fell in love with the story. It has a classic fantasy feel without overly romantic or modern "systems" a unique though familiar magic system and real feeling and relatable characters. A protagonist who's being personality and power are grounded and realistic creating an immersive story that has the feel of dark fantasy. Brutal action sequences and a compelling story of rebellion overthrowing a upcoming tyrant king and battling an ancient evil. I'm a big fan of this book and I'd love to recommend it to any fantasy reader who needs a break from modern litrpg fantasy and power lvl tropes. I found it a very refreshing read.

He couldn't have summed this series up any better in my certified yet totally biased opinion. In any case, reviews like this help to keep the midnight oil burning and the espressos pouring on those days when everything is a slog — like today.
