Last week, I hinted about a secret project that will no doubt excite fans of The Divided Region.
Before your heart claps out with shock…
No, it’s not Book #6 of the series.
Nor is it the audiobook of The Great Betrayal (though that’s coming along well).
I had the idea for this project all the way back since Exiled, and had to call upon every power to restrain me from pursuing it. In fact, many established fantasy or sci-fi worlds across all media have one of these, with many more authors/creators in these genres wishing they did.
And there’s a reason most never end up having one.
Because a lot of upfront time and effort is required.
Resources, one might argue, are better poured into the next book/video game/movie, which is true. However, after wrapping up Book #5 (The Great Betrayal), I felt now was the time to FINALLY scratch this itch of mine.
So what is it I speaketh?
Well, all will be revealed tomorrow, Legionnaire.
“BOO!”
“How can you leave us hanging like that, Watson?!”
“Wow… you’ve really sold out to the marketing mob!”
“Ew. You stink!!!”
(Really? proceeds to sniff myself)
These are all valid reactions. I get it… I truly do. But allow me to kindly point you to one important fact…
….
…..
……
REMEMBER WHO’S IN CHARGE AROUND HERE! 😈
There will only ever be ONE Overlord & Saviour, and I will not tolerate accurate accusations being hurled at my delicate ego. Not from you. Not from anyone!
Muhahaha.
Should any dissenters continue, well… dissenting, then Lyara is already waiting in the wings and cracking her knuckles.
Need we repeat that first encounter?
Anyway, beyond merely scratching an old, bothersome itch of mine, however, I set out on this secret project of mine to offset the only real “flaw” of this series. If I’m being brutally honest, I have a hard time even deeming it as such for the very simple reason that…
It's also TDR’s biggest USP.
Alas, not everyone sees it this way, so for those doubtful Dereks and Debbies, this might come as a huge relief.
Again, more on this tomorrow.
Until then, why not channel your angst into something more productive?
Like mowing your garden…
Cooking a fine beef stew…
Or if, like me, those are far too taxing for your delicate fingers, why not leave a review for TDR? A few lines are more than enough, and it would go a long way in warming my stone of a heart for all of two minutes.
