Long-time readers will know I’m something of an oddball in the author world.
If the Legion doesn’t speak to that, then allow me to remind you of this:
I’ve been open and honest from the get-go that I’m not as big a reader as my peers. I average 2-3 fiction books a year (at best) and 1-2 nonfiction, though that is now trending upwards thanks to the rise in digital voice narration.
(I can already hear the literary purists gasp in relief.)
Stephen King once said:
"If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.”
Safe to say Mr Creepy would be disgusted by my admission.
Luckily, I’m not vying for his or any other author’s affection for that matter. I care only that my readers get an enjoyable experience that keeps them coming back for more like meth junkies.
Given the compliments I’ve received for my work thus far, I suspect it doesn’t make a shred of difference whether I’m reading one book a year or a hundred.
But do you know what I do read a bunch of?
MICROFICTION.
Unlike a 900-page epic that requires a battle plan to rip through, micro-stories are quick little numbers you can devour in seconds yet ruminate on for days. They also help to keep me “honest” as an author and delay the day literary purists expose me as the fraud Overlord I am.
😈
However, not only do I enjoy reading microfiction…
I ENJOY WRITING IT, TOO.
So much so that I went to the extreme lengths of the fiction tundra to compile my first-ever micro-stories into its very own book, fixed with a cover that makes even my cold heart thrum with delight.
This book even has a name:
Tiny Epics: Vol. 1.
However, instead of me revealing all of the wonders you will find inside it and making this email longer than a nun’s skirt (sorry, sister), I’m simply going to point you to the freshly published blurb here:
